Thirteen Points

Scope creep doesn't send a warning.

An Epic can quietly grow past what was actually agreed, ticket by ticket, until nobody remembers the original scope. EpicWarden catches it as it happens. No onboarding call, no setup wizard.

EpicWarden

Epics are supposed to be strategic roadmaps. In reality, they're silent budget drains where extra tickets pile up unnoticed.

EpicWarden locks a baseline the moment an Epic starts and tracks every ticket added after it. When a stakeholder pushes something in anyway, it can route straight to a Phase 2 Epic automatically, before it ever touches your sprint or your invoice.

EpicWarden's panel on an Epic, showing a 50% issue-count drift, a $500 financial exposure, the baseline-versus-current breakdown, two drifted tickets awaiting review, and the Spillover, Re-baseline, Audit Email and CSV export actions
Locked at $1,000, now $1,500: two tickets in.
  • Automatic

    Baseline Lock

The moment an Epic moves to "In Progress," EpicWarden snapshots its ticket count or story points. No setup, no spreadsheet, nobody has to remember to do it.

  • On the Epic

    Drift Badge

A colour-coded badge lives right on the Epic itself, visible before you ever click in, so drift isn't news to you in the quarterly review, after it's too late to do anything about it. Open the panel for the full baseline-versus-current breakdown.

  • Opt-in

    Financial Exposure

Set a cost per ticket or story point once, and watch "we're a bit over" become a number: baseline cost, current cost, and the exposure between them, in your own currency. The same kind of number that costs agencies £3,000+ on a single fixed-bid project when nobody's tracking it.

  • Email

    Proactive Alerts

Cross your drift threshold and EpicWarden emails you directly, before the quarterly review does. Recovers back to green? It tells you that too, so a scary red alert is never the last word you hear after the problem has already fixed itself.

  • CSV export

    Audit Trail

Every ticket added after the baseline is locked gets logged: which one, who added it, when. Export it as a CSV with the full cost breakdown, attached right to the Epic, not a manual dig through Jira history when a client disputes an invoice.

  • Manual or auto

    Spillover

A "quick adjustment" a client slips into an active Epic gets redirected to a Phase 2 Epic automatically, the moment it lands, before it quietly becomes unbilled scope.

Stop absorbing unbilled scope. Lock your baseline, calculate your financial exposure, and protect your delivery margins.

About

Why Thirteen Points

We're a small team building software the way we'd want to use it ourselves: no bloat, no vanity dashboards, just tools that solve one problem very well. EpicWarden is our first product, built directly out of watching Epics quietly grow past whatever was originally agreed.
